About Tika

I gained my registration to be a marriage celebrant in November 2012 and was very fortunate to lead my first wedding in February 2013 at the Bay cafe at Tauranga Bay. It was everything I could have asked for as a first timer! Beautiful setting, a glorious day and a couple who were eager to help me through my first time nerves! Since then I have celebrated with couples both east and west of the main divide.

My aim is to enable couples to construct a special ceremony that will encompass their values and family focus. It is excellent that Nz has passed the legislation  allowing same sex marriages, so there will be a different focus for those couples who wish to do more than a civil union. We are so lucky in the South Island as we have so many options for beautiful settings to create those unique memories.

I also work as a Speech-Language therapist and I communicate with a lot of different people everyday, so I am able to help people form the right words and hopefully reduce the stress associated with the planning of the ceremony. The choices are endless and so it is my job to find the right words, and processes that work for each couple.
